but there are alot of people around NC State that know Dexter. Particularly other players from around there and supposedly Dexter was saying he's going to Clemson.
Definitely worth noting.

Supposedly it means, a recruit tells the staff he wants to go to said school but still wants to wait to announce and/or still take some visits.
It's up to the staff how they want to handle it.

A silent commit generally refers to a recruit telling the school he is going to that he is committed but not publicly and may want to communicate to all the other staffs that he is going elsewhere. Then, they schedule a ceremony which is to enjoy the moment and for the fans. In other words it would mean he is telling the Clemson coaches he is committed but wants some time to tell the other coaches.
