Had a gamecock fan tell me today that the gamecocks and Tigers were are even with recruiting rankings for next year.

if they are allowed to put 20 players on the field at a time

against our 11, they would match up with us pretty evenly.

Mathematically true ...

[2 x (2-star coots)] + [1 x (1-star coot)] = 1 5-STAR TIGER

But in football you can only put 11 on the field at one time, so that gives the advantage to the Tigers. Ha!

He is wrong. When the Rivals 250 is re-aligned Clemson will move well ahead of Carolina. ESPN already has Clemson well ahead.

that would be too difficult to explain to a coot though.

We are second behind Ohio State in Rivals.

Not true at all. But you may want to check for yourself.

I'd suggest getting Compuserve or AOL Dialup to access the information superhighway. Make sure the kids are off the phone, and connect to a search engine like Altavista or Lycos. Type "college football recruiting" into the search bar and it should find several websites with the information. Enjoy.
