Enamel is easier to take care of but will explode on you. My enamel one did that one day. Called Lodge and they sent a new one at no cost.
Of course you can't go wrong with CI if you know how to properly take care of it.
I have both. Easier: Enamel. Better tasting food: CI

I have a cast iron one and love it. She has an enamel one and either it sux, or she's burned the crap out of it. But the enamel thing is a pain to clean. And the bottom is permanently stained brown from all the crap that's been scorched on the bottom.
So from my experience, cast iron. But again I never cook in her enamel one. I just clean the ###### thing.

Yep, chilli, spaghetti and tomato based stuff is too acidic for cast. All the stuff about enamel being easier is truff.

Just got the MIL a 7.25 qt Le Creuset for $160 shipped.

Enameled. Got it from the outlet in Las Vegas and shipped to TX. $15 for shipping. $160 total. Pretty #### good deal. Not many of the outlets ship, and this one does. Plus they were having a 50% off store wide sale. I get emails notificating me because not UDP. May still have the sale going. I just got it this past weekend. Will be a nice Christmas gift.
To answer your question, I have both and love both. Le Creuset enameled and Lodge non-enameled. I use the enameled a lot more because it’s easy to clean. And it’s 7.25 qt; other is maybe 5 qt. Makes a heck of a gumbo.
