He was the Center at Clemson when I first became old enough to be aware of competitive athletics (and, of course, when I became aware of my Clemson fan-hood). Was Skip Wise bidding that day as well!

He was a big recruit for us. They said he picked Clemson over UNC back then. I never really believed that though he was a solid player

I remember him best from being at a basketball camp when I was about 10. I couldn't make a free throw, so he picked me up from the free throw line and carried me to the basket and let me drop it in. He was a giant. I'm sure he was a nice guy, but also no one in our group could go to lunch until everyone made a free throw.
