Having not watched much college ball other than us and the latter rounds of the NCAAT the last decade or so, don’t keep up with who’s where, etc., but just flipping through channelsand watched a dozen or so minutes of the Tenn at Ky game and saw ol’ Rick. Looks like the stress of coaching has been hard on him!

Not surprised he is older, surprised at how gaunt and grey he is.
As for yours truly, at 64, I still look pretty good ??.
Fortunately, I - unlike Rick Barnes and apparently FM - don’t suffer from stress. Although I am a carrier.....

Glad to see Rick doing well. I never understood what circumstances led him to leave Clemson when he did, but I tend to blame the Athletic Dept of that time rather than Rick. It's nice to see someone who runs a clean program being successful, especially in THAT conference.

It was not the athletic department. Let’s just say it was personal and Mrs. Barnes was not happy. He is/was a great coach but not a Clemson man.

Since I wasn’t a member of tnet, I had no idea what was going on with Rick Barnes and why he left, but had he claimed “he was moving on to ‘something better’ (Texas) than Clemson...”. Sort of like Charlie Pell leaving for Florida. I agree, good coach, but one who dumped us for greener pastures.

Small correction.
Clemson did not play at Rupp Arena under Barnes. They played Kentucky twice on a neutral floor. Clemson beat Kentucky to open the 1996-97 season at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis. They then played again in 1997-98 in the Premier Classic at the America West Arena in Phoenix...a game which Kentucky won.
