Great read!

My how things change. We paid $500 per month for a three bedroom apt behind the Esso. It was $167 per bedroom.

We paid a whopping $50/month (which was my ROTC check) in 1968-71 for a luxurious 2 bedroom Littlejohn apartment which were just off Hwy 93 behind Mrs Crawford's store (God bless Mrs. Crawford for giving us monthly credit for food.) Those apartments were torn down ~30 years ago. Our kids' reaction when we showed them where we lived, "Dad, you all were poor back then!" Not really kids. We had each other. Still do after 50 years.
