You are not a true Clemson fan until you read the entire

article.

Tnet linked a portion of the article, but this is by far the best mini-biography of a coach I have ever read.

Good job bringing politics into a great story so you can push your message.

Nah. Just pointing out there's no shame in getting a hand in life.

Some don't. For a LOT, it's a way of life. That unfortunately, they were taught.

Now, enough of this crap, GO TIGERS!

Regardless of your thoughts on him as a coach. You absolutely have to respect the man. He is a winner plain and simple. With his attitude, he will make Clemson a consistent winner

Is it OK if I had tears by the fourth paragraph?

I am touched by it very time. I love that guy and what he brings to Clemson.

I never knew this story. I thought it was well written and a great insight to hs motivation and character. Thanks.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Thanks for posting. Yes, I read every word!

Sep 19, 2012, 10:07 PM

And leaned even more.

I am grateful to have someone like Dabo leading our young men.

I have no doubt that our program will improve under him. But no matter the ups and downs at the end of the day the way our young men develop and live the rest of their lives is more important than any one game or even one season.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Wow. Just awesome. Love this guy.***

thank you for linking this story. I knew alot of it, but not

about his mom having polio and all that time in the hospital.
We spent some time with her during Ladies Camp and what a sweet, classy lady. When you think of what she's been through, you see where he gets his sense of fairness and compassion. He's lucky to have two exceptional women in his life-his mom and Kathleen. And we're lucky to have them all!!

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's pretty easy to see why

Sep 20, 2012, 12:46 AM

Dabo can relate to many of these recruits. He's walked in their shoes.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

"We establish no religion in this country, we mandate no belief. Nor will we ever. Church and state are, and must remain, separate." ~Ronald Reagan

Yeah, he can probably say with confidence that any player

he recruits that if he could succeed in his situation growing up, they can succeed in the one they are given.

I disagree. I can be a true Clemson fan without reading the article.

However, it was an excellent article.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Just another reason on the list of many that Lowdummy

Sep 20, 2012, 4:29 AM

Can #### it.

I'd rather have this guy leading my football team than any of your "proven" coaches. I just don't understand how you really don't get it. I bet if they held the events you'd camp out for tickets to kiss Spurrier or Saban's @ss. What a joke.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Thanks for another great post! As ClemsonTiger1988

Sep 20, 2012, 6:21 AM

said, it's very difficult to read this without having to regain composure. I would suggest that the fact that Dabo has been so open regarding his youth has endeared him to so many people, and I admire a man who demonstrates the personal courage and humility to be willing to share his experiences. Whether you like him as a coach or not is immaterial...it's the "character" that makes this man.

With Dabo you get a lot more than a coach.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This story makes me love this coach enen more

Sep 20, 2012, 12:57 PM

Dabo will take us to places we haven't been in a long long time. This guy is a winner for the right reasons. We are lucky that he is our head coach.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

All the world

Sep 20, 2012, 1:28 PM

loves a winner and there is no question that Dabo is a one of a kind. I have always known that he was a genuine guy (can't say that about his predecessor) and the players know it too. This article doesn't mention the situation that occured last year just prior to the ACC Championship game and Dabo's interest in the young cancer patient who visited the team. I knew when I read that story that we had a keeper on our staff. Makes you feel good to be a Clemson man doesn't it?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If you want to make steam come out of your ears

Sep 20, 2012, 1:45 PM

go read the comments from those classless ####### chicken fans on the story.

FGF is an embarrassment to that program.

GO TIGERS!!

It's things like this

Sep 20, 2012, 3:45 PM

remembers what a great man they think he is. Sometimes fans forget after a bad loss (not suggesting that we will lose). Just pointed out that fans can turn on a coach quickly. It was that long ago that Dabo was on the hot seat.
