TAMU must have had a dandy dozen of their own....

Feb 20, 2013, 10:42 AM

Have 87 scholly players (compared to our 86) and signed 35 compared to our 23. Crazy... Anyone know what happened?

It's called being in the SEC….

now you understand why they were willing to sacrifice there rivalry with Texas and series with other Texas schools, because now they're in a conference where it's ok to bend and break the rules.

That wasn't an article on over-signing it was a misinformed spin on scholarship limits. Over-signing is based on the idea that players have to be kicked off the team to account for newly signed players. That list focused on the 85 scholarship limits without accounting for individual team situations.

example: Clemson has DRod who is paid for on the GI bill and will carry 86 scholarships.

The real interesting stat was the signed players over the last 4 years. Most of the teams with high numbers in that category were SEC teams but that was glossed over by the writer.

hence the post, did you notice we were on it? or do facts only apply when we are not on the list, hence my reply.

Apparently you need to work on your reading comprehension.

My post was referring to TAMU signing 35 but still only being 2 schollys over the limit and whether it is oversigning or if they had a similar "dandy dozen" situation.

Had nothing to do with whether we were or were not on that list...

DRod is not scolly #86

DRod does not count as a scholarship. I think #86 is Phillip Fajgenbaum. I had him as a 1-year scolly last year which I assumed was not renewed for 2013. If it was renewed, that's where the extra one is.

it is a complicated formula to some extent. earley enrolees count on the previous year numbers. you can sign more if you are not above the 85 number from previous year.
