Deer Mr. Deer,

Oct 4, 2017, 8:52 AM

I'm sorry some assbag hit you on the Martin Creek Road Bridge last night. His Honda (now missing the "H" grill ornament) I'm sure didn't fare well. I am ashamed he didn't bother to stop.

A truck came up on you, barely alive, seconds afterwards with us close behind. Unfortunately you didn't make it. We moved you to his truck where you passed, along with your 6 point rack. RIP.

The fellow said he would take care of you, after he got you home and dressed you out. Hope you grill up well and can make someone happy in your tragedy.

Note to other deers in the area: Please stay off the bridge. There's no where for you to go..

I've often wondered why we place deer crossings on stretches

Oct 4, 2017, 9:26 AM

of roads with such high speed limits. It seems like it would be safer to only place the crossings on dirt roads and neighborhood streets where the limit is 35mph or less.

That's just papering over the solution. We won't fix this

Oct 4, 2017, 10:15 AM

with any sign until we address the glaring deer illiteracy problem in this country.

If you have a desirable car though, it'll get you a premium at resale time on the private market.
