'Cuse fans parking in the fairgrounds?

So I was on the phone the other day doing business with a fellow who lives in Lake Lure, North Carolina. I was giving him my address (I live in West Columbia) and he said, "Oh, I'm going to be down your way Saturday for the football game." I could tell by his voice that he was from up north and he confirmed he's a Syracuse fan.
I asked him where he was parking, intending to tell him to come by my tailgate spot in Lot 5. He said, "Don't know where we're parking. I've been down there one time before so we'll try to find a spot in the fairgrounds."
I laughed and told him if was parking in the fairgrounds then he was going to have a long walk to get to the Clemson-Syracuse game. I said "When you get to the fairgrounds, take a right and keep driving for about another two hours and 15 minutes!"
Oh, those Yankees.
I wonder if I hadn't said anything if he would've driven to Columbia?

Wouldn't a true, decent fan corrected him and gave him some pointers?

Pretty sure that is what he did.

It was implied that he set him straight.
The point of his post is that it would be ironic to mistake USuC for Clemson, since there is a world of difference in the setting and atmosphere.
You sure are looking to get offended. You need to brush off that chip. No hatred here.

Make negative assumptions much?
I invited him to my tailgate, gave him tips on parking, and told him of some good places to find a beer. Told him that I hope he enjoyed everything about his trip except the result of the game.
Acceptable?

Sure is...awesome. BTW, next year...send me a note and I'll get you set up in Cuse.
BTW, our tailgate flies a 10th MTN flag along with a Cuse flag.

The coldest winter I ever had...
Oct 22, 2014, 3:43 PM
|
|
...was a summer spent at Fort Drum. 1993.
I remember asking about the purpose of the long, 10-12' high red fiberglass poles attached to the fire hydrants.
"Oh, that's so the snowplows don't run them over in the winter."
Brrrrr.

My lakehouse is about 25 mins from Post...Awesome summers usually a high of 80 and low of 60 most of the time but sometimes a rainy, windy 60 degree day in the middle of summer makes you scratch your head. Like you I'm a vet.
