Curious about how folks think D Cook will be as a pro

Dec 11, 2016, 10:22 AM

He doesn't appear to have the ideal body type of an NFL running back. He's fairly thick up top, but has a smaller lower body. Those kind of guys generally can't stay healthy in the league. I really can't think of any RBs in the NFL past or present that have been successful that compares to him.

Overall people are looking at this Draft class as being heavy at the top with RBs. However, I don't know if any of top guys will be very good pros. Founette's the headliner, but he's had problems staying healthy in college and has always struggled against the teams with tough run defenses. Not good omens for the future.

McCaffery - A slower version of Reggie Bush. Again, this type has struggled in the league
Chubb - He's just not the same guy he was prior to his injury
D. Foreman - A poor man's Ron Dayne. Not sure if that's high draft pick worthy

He was a lot smaller than I thought he would be when I met him the other day.

I personally think he will thrive with respect to the skill of his OLine. He could be Emmit Smith, or he could be Joe McKnight (not the shot and killed in a road rage incident part, may he Rest In Peace... just the "he could have been a lot better had my Jets not sucked so hard" aspect).

Don't know but I do know my team has a potential M.V.P.
or Rookie of the Year candidate.

I think he is going to be lights out.
Reminds me of Marshal Faulk .

Personally, I don't see the Marshall Faulk similarities

Marshall is more versatile, has way more wiggle, and is much shiftier than Dalvin. Cook is more of a one cut and go guy to me.

The one that has my eye is Pumphrey from San Diego State . Amazing film and the one game I saw him play in this year he looked electric .
The typical yeah-butys are that he plays weaker competition or that he will not be as successful on the next level due to his size .

I think he'll do great. He is a patient runner and will make you gang tackle him or go low. Arm tackles don't bring this guy down. He's got the agility and quickness to get to the second level and the speed to leave the second and third level behind. Depending on who drafts him, he will probably be my first rookie I take in fantasy fb.
