70-30 OSU

Dec 20, 2016, 9:52 PM

I'll be there from North Carolina but I understand OSU has a ton of fans on that side of the country that will simply be able to drive to the game.

I will be there. With 2 OSU fans though. Roomates from CO for who we said if we ever played each in an NC we would go. Close enough.

Here is article from a few days ago on Eleven Warriors. Ticket sales definitely seem to favor the Buckeyes, especially since so many Ohioans retire to Arizona.

http://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-state-football/2016-fiesta-bowl/2016/12/77751/fiesta-bowl-ticket-sales-going-extremely-well-for-ohio-state-despite-second

From the article:
Those tickets for No. 3 Ohio State's game against No. 2 Clemson started at $120 plus service charges and the university received approximately 13,000 tickets to sell. Only about 12,500 are available for the public, though, Scarbrough said, since 500 are reserved for band members.

“We were able to fill all orders and are currently down to only a few hundred remaining,” he said.

And:
By comparison, Ohio State fans from the home state have bought 27 percent of tickets for the Fiesta Bowl on StubHub. California is responsible for 15 percent, while South Carolina—the home state of Clemson—has scooped up just 3 percent of them.

I would bet Clemson fans show up. Never doubt that. Maybe 60-40 Ohio St but nothing more.

Most Ohio State fans (including myself) are thinking any where from 70-30, 80-20.

Cali - No disrespect to Clemson fans, it's just that Ohio has a very large number of transplants in PHX. #### near 20,000 Buckeye fans won't have to travel at all for this game.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That's because buck fans don't think Clemson has

Dec 21, 2016, 12:10 PM [ in reply to Re: Crowd for Fiesta Bowl ]

very many fans. Relatively speaking, given that Clemson has about 1/5 of the alumni base as tOSU, Clemson travels very well.

tOSU has an advantage that they didn't have a conference championship game to eat up $$$. All these extra games get expensive compared to the old days of just having a bowl. I did all 3 post season games last year and it cost a small fortune.

This season has been very expensive for the Noodle's so we almost decided against Phoenix. Went to all home games plus Auburn, GT, BC, ACCG...have tix to Fiesta and NCG if we make it. I need a 2nd job.

It won't be 50/50, but I'd be surprised if it is worse than 60/40. I have been wrong before, though.
