"Crossroads" by just about everybody except Clapton

Mar 4, 2021, 7:44 PM

if you are a music lover, you should own an album by every person on this stage....

Shame on you if you cannot name them all.

if you listen to WCCP, you've heard Audioslave on the intro to the 9am show, Chris Cornell vocals & Tom Morello lead guitar

and Rush....my god Rush.....they've been around forever. Don't even know where to start.

We'll let Frank Costanza explain it to ya...

Love when Cornell got a little facemelt from Morello.

Would love to have him and Peart back.

I had no clue who the rappers were, but recognized the names

Mar 4, 2021, 9:45 PM

when you listed them. Maybe just me, but I thought Gary Clark Jr's part was the best fit, from an "old blues classic" perspective. Simple, don't overdo it. Never cared much for the special effects guys like Morello anyway.

Thanks for the post, excellent jam, and I'd never seen it. A lot of talent on that stage.

Saw them live summer before this past.

They were magnificent. I agree that some of the more commercial pop stuff they turned out wasn't my favorite but those ladies can still rock hard, and put on one helluva show.

blues in America. And therefore, most of the music in the following decades. Ditto for the classic jazz of the same era. There's really nothing new... just tweaks and adaptations of those who came before.

I've got that...

Mar 5, 2021, 3:35 PM [ in reply to Saw a glimpse of Robert Johnson on the screen behind them ]

I bought my first two Robert Johnson albums, or at the time, both of Robert Johnson's albums, way back in high school. Pretty sure I bought them right after I saw Crossroads the movie - which is The Karate Kid with an old black man as Pat Morita and a Guitar as crane style karate.

Jazz bass. Lots of guys use a J bass, but few get THAT tone.
