We had to send someone up in a man-basket suspended from a mobile crane to replace some siding on our plant (EPA/DHEC mandate). We haven't sent anybody out here up in a man basket in 10 years. Its generally frowned upon and a bit spooky. The rental company brought in a man basket and the mechanic found cracked welds on it. They brought out a new basket and he's hanging siding... not sure how high up he is, but 75'-100' would be a conservative guess.

I rented a 50ft lift to trim up some trees in the yard

I probably only went up 20-25' trimming some limbs on an oak tree - that was enough for me. That lift moves a lot more than you would think looking at it from the ground - I can't even imagine swaying around in a basket...

There's some weird geometry at play, but just take my word that we tried all other options before using the man basket.
