Haven't we seen guys who put up crazy numbers get passed over for even being considered for the Heisman because they were a product of their system? AND because their team wasn't really relevant in the national landscape?

Look. ...I think LJ is a freak of a talent but I think it COULD be said his numbers are a result of the system he runs AND that ultimately his team was irrelevant to the national landscape by years end.

I just have a vague memory of guys who had deserving numbers who were never given any credit. ..... can't think of them specifically off the top of my head.

Thoughts?

woody at the time was the first player to have 2k passing

And 1k rushing and was not even in NY. I guess Making history was not heisman worthy then. QB from Nebraska won it and woody had a better year

Yeah, and that's not one I was thinking. But that's a good example! I was thinking there have been a number of QB from pass happy offenses that put up huge stats and seem to remember some discussion about a RB or two that had huge numbers but were from "irrelevant programs".....
