Correct me if I'm wrong but I have never

Sep 3, 2019, 1:51 PM

heard of anyone having surgery for a sprain of any kind. Sounds like they are giving Hillinski a 6 week audition. If he does well I suspect Bentley will be having surgery. If I am wrong and Bentley is really hurt then I apologize.I have this feeling there is really nothing wrong with Jakey Boy.

That was to clean out some loose fragments in a knee. I meant to say I have never heard of anyone having surgery on a foot for a sprain.

It was for an ankle sprain***

My bad I just saw that it was a midfoot sprain

Sep 3, 2019, 2:10 PM [ in reply to Re: Tua?*** ]

Not sure that procedure is widely done. The healing time should be roughly similar, in the neighborhood of 4-8 weeks without surgery. I don’t think I’d let them do surgery on my foot. There is a good chance he ends up no better or even the possibilty of being worse. And it does nothing for his decision making, other flaws, or an offensive line that can’t keep Georgia st out of the backfield

Explanation that was given at the time for Tua's surgery

Sep 3, 2019, 3:21 PM

is that it shortened his recovery time from the injury below what it would have been without the surgery. I am sure each case is different.

A mid foot sprain is a lot different than a high ankle sprain

A 6 week audition?

Sep 3, 2019, 2:20 PM

you mean an audition that starts the week prior to the Bama game, and then ends the week after the UGA game? That type of audition?

One wonders which coach put those time lines together.

The same coach that does not know what his team is capable of after a full spring and summer camp. Re-evaluating everything.

Why would they need to fake an injury to bench Bentley?

Sep 3, 2019, 2:28 PM

The fans all want him benched anyway. The only person that's likely in Bentley's camp here is his dad and he certainly knows the real extent of the injury anyway. Who needs to be fooled?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You're exactly right. And why are we talking about them?

We have a big game this weekend and I could care less about the chickens.

I thought we covered this last year with Tua. Mild sprains don’t have partial tearing. A severe sprain can sometimes require surgery to repair torn ligaments. - Mayo Clinic

Thanks for all the responses. I honestly didn't know because I had never heard of a foot requiring surgery from a sprain. If Bentley is hurt then I wish him a speedy recovery.

may want to refresh your memory on Jacoby Ford

Sep 3, 2019, 4:38 PM

and how much time he missed with the Raiders before he eventually gave in to have the surgery and was never the same once coming back from that. This is the same injury. It's actually probably better to tear your ACL or blow your Achilles in some cases depending on the severity as the surgeries are more successful/recoveries proven than lisfranc surgery

Re: Correct me if I'm wrong but I have never

Sep 4, 2019, 2:06 AM

Depends on how bad. Grade 3 is a full year that usually requires surgery. I am going to have surgery in a few weeks for a grade 3 knee sprain, torn ACL.
