Coots Gonna Coots

You know reality is setting in when they ahng onto to the Confrence ASffiliation to make themselves feel better.
I've grown tired of it,too, and have been a fan since Dietzel. It can be done at USC. Spurrier proved that and a certain other SC school is doing great without the prestige and money of the SEC. It's gonna take some very hard work and some important decisions by the admin. Are they up to it? Maybe empty seats and falling donations will get the point across

The thing is that when you begin to give them...

...that respect, they IMMEDIATELY give Clemson the THUMB and C4ap on EVERYTHING Clemson, running down the entire institution, students, professors, student athletes, ice cream, paws painted on the road, Bowman Field, The Esso Club, you pick 'em, and they will trash 'em.
This is the reality, and that is why you just can't give 'em a break.

That has historically been the DirtPeckers mentality...

Due to a lifelong, overwhelming, and inextinguishable Clemson inferiority complex, they constantly try to burn down Clemson's house in a weak, sad, pathetic, and desperate attempt to make theirs look better.
It must REALLY suck to be them.

LOL..."at times you can see glimpses of greatness"...lol

When has that EVER happened at U5C ?!?!?!
Their ONLY modern era Division championship was won at a time when the $EC Least was at an all-time low and they followed that up with two humiliating blowout losses in the Conference Championship game and the Peach Bowl.
Glimpses of mediocrity is more like it.

What gets me is that they think Spurrier did accomplish

greatness. He only won 1 division title, in the most down year the division ever had, and had not even a sniff of an actual SEC title. And, that is the pinochle of their exholeants.

One thing Gamecock fans have never understood is the tremendous difference between perception and reality. Their perception of greatness is their being a member of the $EC, having tons of money and thinking they are superior to Clemson in every aspect of our academic and athletic programs. Granted, being a member of the $EC does provide a financial benefit but in all other factors. they rely on perception and a faulty perception, at that. They did have some success in basketball during McGuire's tenure and in football during Spurrier's tenure, but for 125 plus years, these programs have been recognized as residing in the area of mediocrity.
