insists upon running Mendenhall twice as much as they do AE. AE has almost as many rushing yards as Mendenhall, but only half the carries, doubles Mendenhall's YPC avg. and is a much better receiver out of the backfield. He's not a fumbler, has lost zero to Mendenhall's two. Mendenhall has more TDs, but he gets the large majority of the carries inside the five.

Mendenhall is a great between the tackles runner, but AE is not too shabby there either. I know I'm prejudiced since I'm a Clemson fan, but can any of you help me understand why there is such a large differential in carries? Except, of course, Mendenhall makes a lot more money. AE was a sixth round draft choice, IMO, because of his injury history at Clemson, but outside of CJ, the most explosive runner that Clemson has had. Remember the Auburn game in the Georgia Dome?

If that's the way that Arizona is going to use him, I'm hoping that he gets traded.

gets the majority of carries in short yardage situations, including inside the 5-yard-line. This will decrease his YPC.

I think it's a perfect situation for AE. He was injury prone at Clemson - sharing carries will prolong his career.
