I don't really care that they nominated her. If Dems wanted to replace RBJ with their pick they should have turned out to vote in the mid-terms.

I do enjoy the about face of the Republican party.

The irony is delectable.

However, to the victor goes the spoils.

Too bad only one political party believes that the winner should be a non-compliant bulldozer. Hopefully the dems will grow a pair.

I find it very difficult to believe that given the same set of circumstances the dems would have hesitated a second to replace someone like Justice Thomas with someone of their liking. Funny how political politics can be.

If the Dems held the senate, there would have been a justice confirmed in late 2016. They didn't have it, so they have turned the narrative into something they can control.

McConnell's legacy is set, and I've heard him and others be quite candid about this that even if they lose the WH, Senate, etc, it will have all been worth it. Here's the problem with McConnell's strategy- The precedent is set and there will be no going back now. There will never be another SC justice confirmed if the Presidency and Senate are held by opposite parties.

No one believes for a second that the Democrats would not do the exact same thing. If the scenario presents itself in the future the Democrats will act like they are pushing through a nomination because of what the Republicans just did, and pretend as if that would not have been the case otherwise. And no one will be fooled.
