won New Orleans Bowl 31-17...finished season 13-1 included victories over SC & NC. For tiger fans, Justin Watts (1996-2000) coaches tight ends & recruiting coordinator. Seems like yesterday when he played....you never know, he could return some day.

they did all of that with an overall athletic department budget "less than Muschamp's annual salary". Just means more

Them beating the Dirtpeckers at home this year was a real joy ... the highlight of that weekend to be sure .

There are a handful of schools out there who have mastered the art of getting the 3 star and developing them. Many 3 and 2 star guys are just a healthy diet away or a real strength and conditioning program away from being 4 or 5 star players. These programs recognize the play-maker 1st then address the flaw that caused them not to be as highly rated and skipped over by larger schools.
I think our staff as done this as well. We get the best of the 3 star guys though who just need development in areas that should be easy to develop. We do a tremendous job with it and I hope we continue that tradition; despite our recent success of getting "out the box" talent.
App St. beat SC with a team full of 3 stars and 2 stars at WB. Let that sink in. All the people who put all their stock "solely in recruiting rankings" should never forget this. Football is still about blocking, tackling and executing the plays well! And discipline.
