Coneross Fish Camp

Apr 30, 2015, 7:33 AM

Any old timers remember Coneross and the family style,all-you-could-eat smorgasbord. Country ham, catfish, fried chicken and all the trimmings were as good as I have ever eaten. Late 60's,early 70's there weren't many food choices, but Coneross stole the show. We would not eat all day to save room for the meal. Restaurant eventually became Wynekar's,somewhat upscale restaurant, that burned a couple of years ago. Good memories, great food.

It was a great place to get really stuffed on really good food. That's for sure.

Yep, We would not eat all day as well. I remember having a fish bone plate that you almost could not see over. The catfish was the bomb...about 10" bone-in and fried perfectly. Wish I had a half dozen right now. mmmmmmmmm
