Let's call it what it is, Coot lurkers come on out

Aug 30, 2013, 9:20 AM

Jad met his match in a good blocker who had good technique and feet

Jad was over-hyped and treated like a demi-God to began with, and read too many of his own press clippings

UNC nicely offset him with runs and traps and going to other side, and a dink-and-dunk game (setting a template for others to study and follow)

Let's talk about the real team right now, and a real game coming up.

I'm ready to watch a real, every-down player, MISTER Beasley

How much you wanna bet Clowney gets more hype for getting 3 tackles and 0 sacks against an unranked UNC team, than if Beasley gets at least one sack and over 3 tackles against a number 5 Georgia team.

If he does that after UGA changes to a 2 step drop and throw, double teams him every play, runs everything away from him, and throws the ball in the dirt everytime he gets past his blocker while Clemson only gives up 10 points, he's got my vote.

Did you watch the game? He was not double teamed ape very play, far from it. Unless you're counting the bench as two people. Plus there were plenty of runs up the middle and screens to Clowney's side. And Renner is a terrible mobile QB, he hesitates in the pocket too much, so when he should run, it's too late, making it way easier for the dline

Yes, I watched Renner move the RB to Clowney's side on every pass play. FYI, he was sacked 3 times last night and only 11 all season last year.

Misunderstood, thought you meant two lineman, but it wasn't every pass play, because Clowney didn't even play close to every pass play

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Come on man, don't you know he had a stomach virus.....

Aug 30, 2013, 9:28 AM

That nobody else seemed to know about?????

Clowney spent more times with his hands on his hips last night that a p!ssed off woman...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I heard it was Alien bad...

Aug 30, 2013, 9:31 AM

thing actually came out of his stomach and killed three people in the locker room before Clowney was able to control with his mind and send it to it's death.

Did you notice Brenner moving the RB to whatever side JD was on. That affects the game, that means another player will only have 1 block to beat.

If you know football you know the UNC dink and dunk pass plays are rarely sacked due to quick passes.

That said, they held him in check without a doubt and others will learn from that. If you have a 1st round left tackle like Tenn, Mich, and UNC then you have his number. Too much hype to live up to. However, if every team moves the RB like Brenner did he will still affect the game

For those saying he is nothing, look at DV stats, if he is nothing then how did he get the all time sack record in our house? Give credit where credit is due. I heard plenty of GC fans stating that left tackle Hurst was a beast and media guys said he was a 1st rounder before he even went up against JD. They were right

Will be in Clemson later tonight for a big game

They also put him on both sides of the line, where a FR. was***

UNC only gave up 11 sacks all of last season, compared to 27 for Georgia. Spurrier certainly wasn't going to show everything in week 1 before the UGA game anyway, so I will withhold judgement on Clowney till after next week.

Did you see who UNC played last year? Compared to who Georgia played last year? Slightly tougher teams played Georgia. Just slightly.

I guess so, I mean Bamas defense is right on par with dukes. UNC did lose to duke 33-30, while Georgia lost to bama 32-28, pretty dang close scores. Must be the same since UNC and Georgia are so similar.

So it was really hot and humid yesterday, right. Well, I was driving through the neighborhood and didn't see any of the homebuilders "pull a jadumbo." Yea, its not the same I know. But those guys are out there 6 days a week, 9+ hours a day.

Imagine how upset the foreman would be if some of his crew pulled a clowney. Guess those guys are just real tough men and not just overhyped media products.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I thought about that, but if that were true, did he also

Aug 30, 2013, 10:54 AM [ in reply to Re: Let's call it what it is, Coot lurkers come on out ]

tell Clowney to act tired and take plays off on the field? Sure, if the ball doesn't go his way, maybe he doesn't always run it down, but I definitely saw him trying and playing, as good players should do, on many plays.

Maybe Spurrier is playing games. That's fine, and not a shocker. But I don't think it excuses a lot of commentary about him looking fatigued. And it certainly isn't as fun for opening home game to have your star sit several key plays

Clemson

Re: Let's call it what it is, Coot lurkers come on out

Aug 30, 2013, 11:34 AM

He was worn out and sucking air on many plays and had to be taken out. The reports of him having a virus may or may not be true.

The facts are I saw more fans taken out by EMTs for heat issues on wheelchairs than drunk UGA fans will be escorted out by police tomorrow. It was hot and humid and fans were worn out can't imagine the guys on the field

We will see what happens the rest of the season but it looks good for Clemson given the style of offense they run. Keep in mind he has the sack record at DV so he must be pretty dog gone good
