Coincidence that we got players the caliber of Booker

I think it was, actually ...

When on rare occasion, there is a future NBA caliber player from South Carolina, he usually doesn't end up at Clemson.

Like Larry Nance, Trevor Booker was the exception to the rule. A South Carolina native and a Clemson fan with huge (if un-tapped) basketball skill.

There have been only 35 Palmetto State players in the entire history of the NBA, and only three Clemson players from the state who have ever played in the NBA (Harold Jamison being the other)

Guys like Raymond Felton, Kevin Garnett, and Xavier McDaniel better exemplify the rule.

Getting back to OP ... I do think he lucked into Trevor Booker ... he never recruited another NBA player in his entire career.

KC Rivers, James Mays, Vernon Hamilton, Demontez Stitt, Terrence Oglesby...Purnell got good players besides Booker

I totally agree he got several really good players ... but

... I don't think he reaches the NCAAs at Clemson without Booker.

This is just my personal opinion.
