Coincidence that both CU and SC have had their best success

Dec 3, 2012, 3:42 PM

when they've focused on defense and running the ball first instead of a spread/run and shoot type offense? I remember in the 80's when SC had the run n shoot with Todd Ellis. They put up incredible numbers and had then had a good yr.

I don't remember Todd Ellis doing anything ever except saying TD Clemson. TD Chad Jasmin.

USuC has had success because the SEC East is AWEFUL

Dec 3, 2012, 3:46 PM

CLemson - similar - ACC is worse than aweful. Reference meaningful games as the true measuring stick - neither team has done d1ck lately.

SEC east is not awful this yr at all

Dec 3, 2012, 3:47 PM

GA just took a good Bama team down to the final seconds and Florida is a good team.

Same bama team A&M ran roughshod over.***

So Bama lost a single game and that proves the east is bad??

Dec 3, 2012, 3:49 PM

Losing the logic here.

Your logic was also based on 1 game, genius.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

my experience with Bama is based on the past 3-4 seasons

Dec 3, 2012, 3:51 PM

worth of wins

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Irrelevant to this year, not to mention

Dec 3, 2012, 3:55 PM

Bama is in the West and your basing your whole argument on a game UGA LOST! The only quality win Uga has was against Florida who turned the ball over 6 or 7 times that game.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

the fact is Bama is the top program in the nation over the

Dec 3, 2012, 3:58 PM

past 3-4 seasons...every program is going to measure themselves against them in the SEC. Whatever makes you feel better but the SEC east is not bad.

Hey forgive him. He is just a year behind!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

does Ellis still hold the NCAA career interception record?

Dec 3, 2012, 3:47 PM

I know he had it at one time

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No, he is now #2 (how appropriate)

Dec 3, 2012, 4:32 PM

Timmy Chang overtook him on that prestigious list and now leads with 80 total interceptions.

The Danny years great D, great Running backs and great FG kicking. Those 3 lead to a lot of wins and a NC.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

agreed....kicking game was always solid

Dec 3, 2012, 3:52 PM

great rb

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Actually they won with Defense--you are forgetting Joe....

Dec 4, 2012, 9:02 AM

Lee Dunn who's defense generally shut down running teams with weak passing games (Clemson). In fact that type of D probably lead to the spread offenses of today. Also, when Ford and Arkansas won the SEC West one year Joe Lee Dunn was DC for Arkansas and whenever West had a good team at Memphis Joe Lee Dunn was his DC.

I remember the FIRE ANTS defense***
