this would be a good pickup. They could let one of the expensive TE's go. Plus the Panthers never seem to draft Clemson players for some reason.

Please God no! I can't stand the panthers. Guess if Allen does go there I will have to secretly hope they do well. No way, I will pull for Allen but will never pull for the Panthers and Scam Newton.

already, but Shockey isn't as young as he used to be. Gotta keep bringing in good talented targets around Cam and Carolina might really go places. The defense is going to come around, especially under Rivera.
Not even being a homer. If I were a fan of another team I'd still be saying Carolina needs to bring in Dwayne. Alshon too for that matter (As much as I dont like USuC it doesnt matter here).

Shockey is still an unsigned FA, and all signs point to them not bringing him back. Gary Barnidge has a lot of talent and was set to make an impact last year before he went down with an injury. If they could get Allen in the 2nd, it might be worth it, but Olsen is already one of the league's elite TEs, and they really need a good DT, another CB, a FS, and LB/OL depth. I'm not saying I wouldn't like it, but with their needs on defense I don't know if taking an offensive guy at a position where you already have a Pro-Bowl level player makes sense.

I probably wouldn't draft him in the first round either if I'm the Panthers. But I would love for them to get him in the 2nd. Two talented TEs can definitely play together in their offense, and Olsen and Allen would be awesome.
