Chase where SCHP goes as high as 142 to catch Clowney is highlight of video. However no activity is kind of the point, as he treats Clowney like it's a normal traffic violation. Also, SCHP calls someone and just refers to him as Clowney and not his full name. Just odd how casual the traffic stop was treated by the HP.

It was reckless driving. I think that's a judgment call by the officer. Certainly you can see why going 110 on an interstate that isn't very busy might not be considered reckless driving, as it is defined legally.

I was told that going that much over the limit was legally considered reckless driving in that state, but he still only gave me a regular speeding ticket. I don't think such a provision exists in South Carolina law that defines reckless driving based on speed.

You're right, although if he'd said it was reckless driving in addition to speeding more than 25mph over the posted limit, Clowney's license would've been automatically suspended for 3 months, which would mean the officer couldn't let him drive home.

It's a judgement call, but 40 MPH over on a highway that looked pretty busy on the dash cam video would seem like pretty good reason for a cop to up the charges for any average Joe Schmo

could a SCU booster be paying for it? Yes. But at the same time it's an 8 year old used car. And used car lots can find lenders who will give out loans to people who either have bad credit or will have a hard time making each monthly payment. So considering it's used, it's a very possibility that nothing is amiss.
What you can find dirty with Clowney, is his academics. You can pretty much say being 99% certain, that he is academically ineligible.

We used to make fun of the coots for obsessing over stuff like this since they couldn't beat us on the field. Looks like the tables have turned sadly...
