Trump's trade policies are anti GOP and classic left. Impose tariffs, let US citizens pay for the tariffs, deploy the govt to apply tariffs and pick winners and losers. If you don't think you are paying for the tariffs, you have been conned. Farmers lose in the long run and they are waking up to this in rural America. Wanna see for yourself? Look at the Rural Mainstreet Index, which is a survey a bankers, this is what electric coops and econ dev folks in rural America track - https://www.creighton.edu/economicoutlook/mainstreeteconomy/Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska is a Jesuit college where students, faculty and staff thrive in a community committed to Jesuit values. Learn more about Creighton. Economic Outlook. . This index was stronger under Obama and weaker under Trump well before the virus. Trump has hijacked teh GOP and his socialist trade policy is hurting rural America. Darn, at least Dems admit they are socialist. I'm not Dem, I'm lifelong GOP, we gotta make the GOP great again by dumping Trump.

BTW, see the mention of Ethanol at the Rural Mainstreet Index web site. Ethanol is 100% socialist racket promoted by GOP in midwest states. There is no economic basis for ethanol. It's nothing but a government hand out. Make the GOP great again. Dump Trump.

Is the argument here that Biden doesn’t support Ethanol?

I found this advocacy group’s website with numerous quotes from Biden in support of Ethanol. Is this misleading?
https://www.biofuelsvision.com/candidate/452/joe-biden.aspx
Just a few quotes:
"Advanced Biofuels, including Ethanol, is going to be one of the top priorities, its not the answer but it's a transition." - Manning Iowa, 7-16-19
"It is a major major part of what I propose ... There is so much to talk about that I propose in my climate bill. It's critically important, the idea of Ethanol and Biofuels, it's part of the answer."
- Ottumwa IA, 6-11-19
“Doubling down on the liquid fuels of the future, which make agriculture a key part of the solution to climate change. Advanced biofuels are now closer than ever as we begin to build the first plants for biofuels, creating jobs and new solutions to reduce emissions in planes, ocean-going vessels, and more.” - From Biden's Climate Plan
"We're going to dedicate $400 billion to clean energy research and innovations to develop and generate next generation biofuels, including ethanol."" - Manning IA, 7-16-19
"Q:Your going to support year round e-15 as well right? A:“Yes.” A: “The other piece of that we’ve gotta move beyond this as well, we have to improve upon it as well.”
- Mason City IA, 12-3-19 video

You are 100% correct. Biden is wrong on ethanol. Ethanol is a pointless subsidized racket continued purely as an agricultural welfare program.

I actually agree about Ethanol. Why take a product that

can be physically consumed for nourishment and turn it into a poor fuel for autos that hurt engines over time. Especially when switchgrass can be used for the same purpose.
The government might as well just buy the corn and ship it to poor arid African countries so they don't starve.
I doubt we agree on other things, but ethanol is a poor use of corn.

I had a brief glimpse of financing ethanol projects, the numbers are horrible. The only reason anyone would get involved in the ethanol business model would be if they're happy to base their business model on a corporate welfare program.

I'll take Biden's moderate middle ground policies vs trump's chaotic mix of radical left and radical right policies any day. Make the GOP great again. Dump Trump.
