Clemson’s Run Game Could Give Notre Dame Fits

Stumbled across this article. I haven't seen this discussed here, but was wondering how ND matches up against our run game. I know stats can be misleading, but their defense is ranked #33 against the run, compared to our ranking of #3 against the run. The author points out that ND opponents pick up 2.52 yards after contact per rush, placing the Irish 70th of the 130 FBS teams. So, as I see it, ND's best strategy is to sell out to try to stop the run. Otherwise, we'll eat up too much clock, minimizing their possessions.

I could see us leaning on the run game if we have success early. If we do, I could also see Feaster, Choice, and Dixon tearing it up. I'm thinking at the least we'll pass to open up the run.

I think our RBs will do well , particularly Etienne.
I wouldn't be surprised to see him have a big night , in the 170+ yard type of big night .
