Hey everyone- I am new to Tigernet, but am a long time Clemson fan! Earlier today I was reading through posts from some of our fans saying that playing Vanderbilt would be a lose/lose situation, and while I do agree with that, I almost would rather beat a very classy and respectable program with an extremely passionate team and young coach, then get demolished by the the "SEC Powerhouse LSU". But thats just me.. Though I certainly do believe that LSU is beatable, it is going to be a heck of a fight for us. Im sure there is a post on this already, but lets a take a look at the difference in the regular seasons between the two teams...
So, we are both 10-2, with LSU's two losses coming from a currently ranked #3 Florida team in a BCS bowl, and the currently #2 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide who are yet again headed to the BCS National Championship. Our losses come from the currently #12 ranked Seminoles in a BCS bowl, and the #10 ranked Gamecocks who are in the Outback Bowl vs. Michigan. While our losses are slightly worse then theirs, the real difference is our wins... I believe our best wins are Ball State and NC State.. they beat South Carolina (ranked #3 at the time) and Texas AM on the road. Much more impressive. But I see LSU as being an inconsistant team this year, having stellar performances in some games, and looking awful in others. They only could beat Auburn by 2. But their offense has greatly improved over the season. If we can set the tone with an early score and go up maybe 10 or 14-0 in the beginning, we can get them to have a bad game. If not, I dont see us winning. Personally, I think their defense will shut us down, but if Boyd plays well, it's a different story.
Prediction:
Boyd plays well, offense looks good- Clemson win 41-35 Boyd looks bad, offense cant get going- LSU win 38-14
