Legalize it and crap like this won't happen.***

Does this sound like a normal armed robbery to you?

Posted: Dec 9, 2012 2:38 PM

"Pickens County deputies said a man was gunned down at about 8:30 p.m. in the gated community of Chimney Ridge. The Pickens County Coroner identified the shooting victim as 23-year-old Steven Gregory Grich of Fort Mill. He died at the scene.

Investigators said three to four people broke into a home on Smoke Rise Drive and assaulted Grich and others inside"

Why isn't everyone dead? There was 1 thing these lowlifes were looking for,and it belonged to this poor dude.

Just what does a "normal" armed robbery sound like

1 person breaking into a house while the owners are gone

sounds normal to me,Watson.
When there's 3-4 armed assailants involved, the 1st place to look is drugs. But thanks for trying to be an @sswipe and make me look stupid, brah.

Okay...

[1]
Posted: Dec 9, 2012 2:52 PM

A) you made yourself look stupid when you used the word "brah". What is this? A bad Fast and the Furious imitation?

B) It's sounds like you've been watching one too many law and orders, "brah"... because you don't know what the eff you are talking about. Armed robberies a committed is all shapes and sizes. That's why they have these things called investigation, trials, etc, to figure out what happened and how. I guess we could put you in charge, since you are clearly smarter than detectives that actually are going out and talking with people, to find out what happened.

Later "brah".

Why is it everyone but 2 posters can see this?***

Posted: Dec 9, 2012 2:55 PM

I admitted you are smarter...

Posted: Dec 9, 2012 2:57 PM

You are able to tell what happened from behind your key board. Those mere mortal detectives have to go talk to people to find out the facts.

The kid was a dealer

He was known throughout the neighborhood, in fact.

They were after drugs.

Just like the on-campus robbery a few years back.

They left all the electronics, everything was intact, except a safe was stolen. Drugs.

There's something in these hills.

That and probably cash as well.

Anywhere a thug sees an opportunity those near or around that opportunity are at risk even when they themselves are not the direct target. Just have to stay clear of putting one's self in harms way by association.

Sad day, indeed. My thoughts and prayers go out to this young man's family & friends.

Prayers and a Warning

I teach HS and prayers sent to all involved. This crime wave is only going to grow as today's kids don't value human life. Schools have done a crap job of punishing turds and there aren't enough police to meet the needs of increasing crime.

Rivalry aside; this is going to get worse. Protect yourself and your family. Again, condolences to all.

Exactly why everyone should be registered CWP holders***

He was inside his home, a CWP has nothing to do with...

Posted: Dec 9, 2012 5:42 PM

having a gun in the home. The subject of having a CWP has nothing to do with the situation, since the kid was inside his home.

Thats probably the best way to raise homocide rates***

So I guess I'm kinda with you on this one. Kids don't value human life. Neither do adults. Scary times we're in.

2020 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg2016_nascar_champ.gif

Have humans ever really valued human life?…..

Posted: Dec 9, 2012 5:47 PM

Go look all throughout history, even all the way back to ancient history, and what goes on in other places around the world. Humans as a whole have never cared about taking another human life.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg

Had 2 move twice while at Clemson because of roommates and drugs.

I stayed at the Reserve.

sad stuff. People posting RIP all over it.

Isnt chimney ridge 100yds from creekwood?

Posted: Dec 10, 2012 12:48 AM

I delievered for Dominos and assure you, that place was gheeeeeettooo. And now the rich kids moved into a gated community next door...The place is super nice but theres no way I'd live that close to creekwood, especially if I had enough money to live somewhere else.

Almost all robberies in clemson related to drugs

Posted: Dec 10, 2012 12:56 AM

A group of people do not break into a college students house while the residents are there to steal their tvs and electronics. The only reason you get four armed men kicking down your door when you live in a college apartment in Clemson is if you have drugs.

This is why I always carry

Posted: Dec 10, 2012 12:58 AM

Except on campus, where it is illegal (which is totally illegal in itself, but I wont break the law carrying on campus..).

they guy who got robbed

Can you point me to a source that says Steven Grich owned a gun?

Re: Clemson student killed in home invasion last night

Posted: Dec 12, 2012 3:59 PM

My understanding is that the suspects were after marijuana that belonged to Grich's roommate. This from a radio report, so it may not be accurate.

If, however, it is accurate, then the police might need to take a closer look at the activities of the roommate. It sounds like he was moving enough product to get somebody's interest and courage up to the point that they were willing to break into an occupied home, armed and ready for trouble.
