Clemson has Lost one of The Great Ones..

Ben Anderson finally lost his battle to cancer..He was a great student-athlete at Clemson..He played football in the early seventies at Clemson. He won the Norris Award-given to the most outstanding undergraduate at Clemson. He later returned to his alma mater and served as Chief Legal Counsel for Clemson University..A Great Clemson man!

Very Sad news, but appreciate your great description of a great man. My wife was related so we'll be at the service. Looks like it's at Tillman on Wednesday. believe all of his brothers were either lawyers and another a judge. Very well respected in south carolina. Truly great people.

Clemson football was struggling mightily and hard nosed over-achievers like Ben Anderson were the guys that made being a Clemson fan something to continue to brag about in spite of the won/loss record.

Rest in peace Ben Anderson ... you were one of the good ones.

Defensive Back * 1971
Second-team Academic All-American... President of Tiger Brotherhood while at Clemson... earned 1972-73 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship award... won the Jim Weaver Award as the outstanding student-athlete in the ACC for the 1972-73 academic year... won Norris Medal in 1973 as Clemson's top all-around student... recipient of the Frank Howard Award for bringing honor to Clemson University in 1973... three-time academic All-ACC on the gridiron, he made the team in 1970, 1971 and 1972... attended South Carolina Law School... lives in Clemson and is the General Counsel for Clemson University... inducted into the Clemson Hall of Fame in 1997.
