Clemson Notes:

· The Clemson men’s tennis team hosts Appalachian State at 10 a.m. and Coastal Carolina at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26 at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility.

· The Tigers are 2-0 on the season after defeating The Citadel in a doubleheader on Jan. 19, by scores of 7-0 and 6-1.

· Junior and 2018 All-ACC selection Simon Baudry played at the top of the singles lineup for the Tigers, winning both of his singles matches against the Bulldogs while dropping a total of just five games.

· Returning players junior Carlos Kelaidis and sophomore Yizhou Liu both went 2-0 against the Bulldogs, as did freshmen Mike Agee and Teodor Giusca.

· Baudry and Liu handled duties at No. 1 doubles, blanking both of their Citadel opponents 6-0.

· The duos of Giusca and Kelaidis at No. 2 and Agee and junior, Arizona State transfer Pierre-Louis Dodens at No. 3, also opened the season at 2-0 in doubles play.

· Through two matches on the season, the Tigers are 11-1 in singles play and 6-0 in doubles play.

· Head Coach John Boetsch is in his third season at the helm of the Clemson program. Boetsch was an All-ACC selection when he played for Clemson in 2003 and 2004 and served as an assistant coach/associate head coach for the Tigers for eight seasons before being named head coach in June of 2016.

whoa what's this?

Nice update!

But yeah last weekend the team swept Citadel in a double header. The Citadel is very bad though so not much to be learned from that.

App State and Coastal are better and should be more of a test but both are matches that Clemson should win fairly comfortably. Coastal is a tad better than App State probably.

Freshman Teodor Giusca is going to be a very good player for the Tigers this year. Could be playing at #1 before the year is over.

I'll have more thoughts on the team after watching the matches tomorrow. Who else is going? The new indoor facility is awesome for viewing.
