Cullen Harper Deserves Better

Yea, a redshirt freshman who was out for several games (shows no toughness), comes in 6th in the ACC in passing Avg/game and is picked 1st team. Those who were picking must have been on drugs. Cullen led the ACC in passing and threw 71 more times than Wilson. He also played hurt a lot. The only thing that hurt Harper were his interceptions (14). Wilson only had 1769 yds passing compared to Harpers 2395 yds. Harper stayed in the pocket and did his job like a true QB. Wilson tended to scramble a lot like young QBs do and gained a few yards that way. Harper came on very strong in the second half of the season. He had 7 interceptions in 2 games (GT and BC) The other 12 games he had only 7. He gets my vote.

Well remember how many voters are in the state of NC - home cooking wins every time. JD not even honorable mention? Give me a break! Oh well he'll be smiling on Sundays next year.

Spiller and Hamlin named to the all-conference first team announced Monday by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association.
So, why the complaints about Spiller not making the team?

He's a first team kick returner, but a second team running back.

The insanity of the All-ACC list
Dec 3, 2008, 12:04 PM

it seems as though some of the names on the All-ACC first team list were chosen based only on talent and not the numbers put up in ACC play. Some of the guys on the first team haven't even started the whole season for their respective teams (see the first team QB, 10 games played). although he only threw 1 int he played less games and threw about 100 less passes than any other starter in the ACC. This would make one think that talent and not numbers make you eligible for the All-ACC team. This being said, how in the hell is A.K. out-voted on this list. As the leader of the best receiving corps in the ACC it is understandable that he would not have as many catches as D.J. Bolden or Eron Riley, guys that are the best and (no offense) only real threats for their respective teams. The ACC needs to find a way to equally pick the All conference team that is the same for all positions. If they are picking based on shear talent most of the defense that lead the ACC in points against and was 9th in the nation should have made the All-ACC team. If the best statistical defense only has one player that is the best in the conference at his position then Clemson must be one of the luckiest programs in the country. Not to mention the best rushing combo in the nation that totals for 22 rushing touchdowns on the season. no lovin for JD
What's the deal ACC?!?
