#70 overall. Bit of a drop.

So we're ranked below UGA and FSU? I guess when it comes

UGA has always been ranked ahead of Clemson

their avg SAT Vandy, UF and UGA are the only SEC schools that have been. (of course Vandy is private). FSU makes no sense- they were last in the league until UL joined so not sure where that sudden rise is coming from. VT is higher than usual also.

It's a stupid ranking system which should be obvious because UGa and FSU ranked so high.

35% of the ranking is the retention and graduation rate, so crappy schools get higher ranking because they are easy.

Outcomes (35%)

More than one-third of a school's rank comes from its success at retaining and graduating students within 150% of normal time (six years). It receives the highest weight in our rankings because degree completion is necessary to receive the full benefits of undergraduate study from employers and graduate schools. We approach outcomes from angles of graduation and retention (22%), graduation rate performance (8%) and social mobility (5%).

Only 10% is the quality of the students.

I'm glad Clemson got away from the pointless drive

To be top 20 that was a big thing when I was a student (09-13).

Enrollment numbers are up, money is up, morale is at an all time high, the national footprint is huge and it's not all because of football.

Clemson is in a much better spot now than a decade ago when we were arbitrarily making it harder to get into and good in state students were turned away as we strived be "top 20" which nobody cared about. Enrollment was at low as 18,000 at one point when I was at Clemson. The university is much healthier now

Actually, admission stats are much, much higher than 10 yrs

ago. It's more difficult to gain regular freshman admission than previously. Agree $$ are up due to higher overall enrollments, but there are costs, in more areas than dollars, associated with increased enrollment. I think we are approaching a fine line if we want to maintain the uniqueness and flexibility we've enjoyed as a relatively smaller state university. Going large, and excelling as a high quality university, is a rat race we can't win against schools in much larger states. Historically, we have had competitive advantages, other than size, as we threaded a line between big school amenities with the intimate feel of a smaller school. I hope we don't lose that niche.

I was there '06 through '12 (hey two degrees)

I remember undergraduate being 14k and grads being 3k with 17K total...

We should be top 20. Period. I am a Barker vision loyalist.

How in the F is FSU even ranked?

Wait: "Since fiscal year 2013-14, FSU has received $61.9 million in preeminence funding from the state, in addition to performance funding."

He, SC legislature - pay our champs!
