Clemson- Louisville-playoff ?

Oct 22, 2016, 2:30 PM

With the criteria that playoff committee uses to pick teams. If we lose the ACC title game there will b a strong argument and lobbying for Louisville. Lets took a look at the criteria.

Conference championship

Strength of schedule

Head to head

Comparative of common opponents

Other relevant factors to the team or games played

So under that senario we only when maybe 2 categories. Head to head but will probably will demean it do to the down marker issue.

SOS maybe we win but probably not we will have to see, but big teams or Auburn for us and Houston for Louisville so I would lean towards Louisville

They way we have looked against NCST and the way we play against FSU will play a role in that senario.

So the best thing the team could do is start to play start to finish better with no letting up. I think we have to win the ACC title or Louisville has to lose 1 more.

What do yall think?

lets look at stregth of schedule.....Clemson if we win out regular season will have two SEC wins. One being a road win. two top 25 wins. one being a top 5 win and the other being a road win. The only loss assuming we lose the ACCCG will have been a top 25 road loss. I think that would qualify how about you??

depends who the winner of the acc champ game is against and their record...

Also, how many sec teams are in the top 8.

Possible but not probable.

We are in the ACC.

They would have to leave out 2 conference champions from Power 5 conferences for ANY conference to get two in the playoff and it is political and ESPN follows the eyeballs - which means MONEY!

even if we lose a game BUT win the ACCCG, the lobby

nationwide will still be for Louisville; and Clemson Nation better understand that.

The case will be 1) more impressive wins (score wise) and same ACC record;

2) having lost to Clemson (importantly) @ Clemson, but under questionable (?) circumstances;

3) having the Heisman QB (LJ);

4) just being this year's "flavor of the month";

5) because of backlash against Dabo's personality; and

6) probably having a higher ranking at that point (say Clemson loses in week 11, we'll drop).

Louisville wins out, and we lose anything (Pitt, USuCk) but still win the ACCCG,

the committee is going to be under a great deal of pressure to have Louisville in the CFP

regardless our conference crown.

Especially if #6 is true....
