Nissan Pathfinder AC issue

My daughter has a Pathfinder that is a few years old (3 or 4). The AC cuts out from time to time. By this I mean it stops blowing cold air and just blows warm air from vents. They have had it recharged and checked a couple times by mechanics. The shop now says they need it to be not working to diagnose the problem further. I'm just wondering if any of you have experienced this on Nissan or other. What did you find as a solution. Thanks

Sounds like the AC Compressor/Clutch is going bad

what if my heat works @ idle, but AC doesn't 50% of the time.
While moving, AC works fine (enough)

however, it's either I get it in sellable condition, or drive it for another few months....both scenarios involve preferably getting the AC working ALL the time.
hmm...just remembered car taxes are due end of next week. Why'd the decal fee go from $24 to $100?? Is that an SC or g'ville co thing?

This should have nothing to do with AC. Only way it could would be if the air was introducing an overheating condition to the car, which would cause more issues than A/C.
More than likely it's low on Freon or the fan clutch is shot and the fan isn't moving air over the condenser at idle.
