Many schools declined to respond to CNN's requests but of those that did our 15% of athletes being below 400 on the SAT verbal was among the highest percentage I saw. I might be wrong as I did a very quick review of the findings but it didn't put us in a good light compared to the other schools. The worst was certainly UNC.

What is truly surprising is that anybody with a pulse would

find this surprising. After hearing football and basketball players speak on TV for decades now, are there really people out there who think these guys are really capable of college academics?

It's really pitiful to hear some of them.

USC acknowledged it received CNN's request in October, but has since not responded to requests for a status update.

I wish you would fall and bust your skull. I am sure not much would leak out, but I would still enjoy watching you lay there bleeding.

Raise or enforce the academic standard and I'm still going to love and watch collegiate athletics. As long as it's fair and level amongst all participates. I don't care if the level of talent is diminished. But you can't let everyone try to compete for the same dollar and have one conference try to actually recruit and educate scholar athletes and the other let in idiots as a rookie league for the 2% that make it pro.
