Chad Morris to SC

ESPN is reporting that he is one of the names being kicked around.... I'd like to see CM be successful, however I hope he don't go there... anyone think he is a serious contender to replace Spurrier?

25 Tnet points says he interviews if USuCk calls.

25 more says he interviews with intent of getting a pay raise only.
Over/under on how many interviews and pay raises Chad gets in the next three years set at 3.
Any gamblers?

Plus I don't think he would do that to SMU after just one year.

A good bit of talk locally on Teddy's show about Rich Rod too. Back to the old philosophy if you can't beat 'em join 'em I guess. Dr Rick wasn't to optomistic about getting Mark Dantonio who I guess is one of the names with a USCe connection?

Let's start rumors of who won't. Should be an easier list to keep up with.
Morris is the 15thish name I've seen here. Sure that will double.

All they are doing is repeating what their "homework getting" analysts found on blogs. I highly doubt Chad would leave Clemson after waiting through several chances of schools to get back to Texas, just to come back to SC a year later. That's just wishes of coot fans who know Clemson is now spanking them....same ones who are so delusional, they actually think Venables would leave to go to the rival that has a) recruiting isues, b) player respect issues, and c) hasn't proven they can WIN at the highest level with 2 coach legends that NEITHER could get them even an SEC championship in the best 5 years of their entire history, much less to sniff the Nationals.

I do not think so, I also do not think SC would hire him if they had to pay SMU to buy out his contract. If that were to occur, it would seriously indicate to me that the coots are desperate beyond desperate. He may interview, but he is happy in Texas, and would not do that to SMU or Clemson, and the players he helped recruit at Clemson. However, if Sumlin bolts for another job and the T A&M job becomes available, all bets are off with this one. Morris would leave in a heartbeat to coach there.

Chad is back in the State he loves.May even end up with a better job in that State. He knows what we have at Clemson and he knows what the coots have. They are still about 3 recruiting classes away from be very competitive in their league.Morris isn't coming. They are stuck with Gomer.

Don't think so. Dirtpeckers will stick with elliot. Then the bottom will fall out.

What does this say about the state/morale of dirtpecker football? I mean, Elliot hasn't even coached a game and they are "Kicking around names" for his current position, before he has even coached a game, an before the season is done. Wow, total lack of confidence in Elliot, this team may not win another game all season.....WOW.

http://southcarolina.247sports.com/Bolt/Morris-interested-in-South-Carolina-job-40302272
Here's another first-year head coach in the state of Texas with interest in the South Carolina job and it's a name that should be familiar to most Gamecocks fans.
SMU head coach Chad Morris, who was the offensive coordinator at Clemson from 2011-14, is interested in returning to the Palmetto State and leading the Gamecocks, according to sources familiar with him.
Morris has struggled to a 1-5 record during his first season with the Mustangs, but under his watch they've shown signs of life without having very much talent to work with (they literally have the least-talented roster in the American Athletic Conference). SMU was competitive against Big 12 titans Baylor and TCU earlier this season.
Sources indicate Morris feels he could win at South Carolina if given the opportunity and could assemble a high-level coaching staff that could recruit. Also, there is a feeling that he could help turn the tide with in-state recruiting given his contacts he established in the Palmetto State during his time with the Tigers.
On South Carolina's end, we have not heard Morris mentioned, but new candidates are popping up every day.

After 2 legends have ended their careers in defeat, I doubt that Chad Morris would sign up for the career death penalty. If Steve Spurrier can't win a conference championship there, it is very unlikely that it will ever happen.
