Are conservatives just unaffiliated now?

I know so many people disenfranchised by what Trumpism and the far right has done to the GOP. Any true conservative is no longer a Republican. I always equated Conservative with:
- believing in democratic institutions
- being fiscally responsible
- conduct with honor and integrity
- smart immigration policy
- forging strong foreign alliances
- loyalty to allies
The current party no longer reflects any of those values. Those values are incompatible with the party leadership. Is the best way forward for conservatives to be unaffiliated and maybe the GOP will have to change its values to court them back? If Trump loses this election, can the GOP correct course or is the damage done?

fugg, 20 years ago I got locked up for a burnt roach paper in my ashtray in GA. They wrote it up in the paper as a drug bust.
