Can't say I expected this level of play from Byron Maxwell

Feb 3, 2014, 2:16 PM

But it sure is great to see a tiger contributing to huge accomplishments on and off the football field. Congrats to the Seahawks and Byron maxwell!

According to an article I read a couple of weeks ago

His flexibility was a major issue coming out of Clemson, but he dedicated himself to yoga and vastly improved that area of his game. Apparently it has made a huge difference for him.

I believe he had a pretty bad knee injury before coming to Clemson which probably set him back some and limited his production. Was still a 4 star recruit though out of high school.

Kid was a good player. Just as highly rated as Crezdon Butler ( I think they both came out of hs the same year).

Byron tore an ACL in high school and I remember once it healed, the following year, he injured his other knee but not as severely.

I always felt that Byron should had been given more playing time.

Did you know he played for Clemson?

Feb 3, 2014, 4:09 PM

You wouldn't if all you had to go by was the local Charleston sports coverage. Channel 4 didn't mention Clemson once but spent a while telling about his local high school playing time.

That's the downside of living closer to COOTville.

I grew up in Lexington

I'm used to anti-Clemson media.

Did I miss something? People have been acting like Maxwell was a scrub at Clemson (that's not directed towards OP, but some people don't seem to remember him for some reason. He played close to 900 snaps between his junior and senior years and was always a physical specimen.

I know he was overshadowed by Gilchrist and McDaniel, but he wasn't exactly an enigma or anything.

Sherman said it was "Hot Yoga" that did it for Maxwell - it

is for the young and/or fit. I tried it and was too strenuous for this old body. Chandler said it really helped in in offseason too!

Dwayne Allen does it too***

suprised at his success must be casual Tiger fans. Dude was one of the most physical corners we've had in 20 yrs.
