Can the ACC not object to NC State's Non-Conference schedule?
May 26, 2015, 9:09 PM

Do they not have a say, or do they just not care? Seriously, this is pathetic for a team in a Power 5 conference. At least 1 of these games should not count towards bowl eligibility, and if they end up 6-6 i hope the bowls all take this into consideration.

...you would think they would learn their lesson after their fast start and crash and burn from a season ago, but I guess that's just how they roll...

4-4 after playing FSU, us, BC, and Louisville. LOL.
But they smacked those cheating tarholes 35-7, so that was fun.

Maybe. But then again, as a Clemson fan I could care less. Weak out of conference schedule = weak SOS. I say good luck to them, SEC teams do it all the time.

In their defense, they are NC State. And what good team wants to lose to NC State on a fluke?

are we not to the point where we dont have to worry about teams like nc st and their bowl situation. cant see us fighting it out with them for a bowl slot anytime soon. but it is a pathetic excuse for ooc games.

Doeren is still in rebuilding mode at NC State.....

and making the playoffs simply isn't a relaistic goal for them. At this point, simply winning games is more important than strength of schedule (although NC State has historically played a pretty weak OOC schedule). Even with that cupcake OOC schedule, it's still unlikely that they'll finish any better than 7 - 5.

ECU might be the best CFB team/school in NC as we write this . Wake is Wake . The phenomenon of Duke is what ? They haven't done anyrhing considering how weak and sloppy the Coastal is . UNCheat and State are sort of .750 teams. Dabo should be absolutely smearing them in recruiting their best in-state HS football stars ....and he is . I don't blame the Pack for that scheduling , I blame the ACC front office for allowing it though . LOL

Over the last fifteen years, State has played ten regular season games against teams from a BCS conferences (Tennessee, $CU (2), Pitt, Louisville, Indiana (2), Ohio State and Texas Tech (2)). I believe their record is 5 - 5 in those ten games.

I'm not sure many teams are playing tougher OOC opponents than South Carolina and Notre Dame. Then you also have to consider that after Clemson plays Wofford and App St., they have UofL, ND, and GT all in a row. Two weeks after GT, they have to play Miami. So their first 7 games are actually pretty tough.

It's kind of a no-man's land for the Wuffies...
May 27, 2015, 8:39 AM
|
|
Dornan has the unenviable task of playing us and FSU every year, which effectively will keep them out of serious bowl talk unless/until the Wuffies can build a solid record otherwise. Their best hope is to vie with Louisville in the Atlantic for third now. Assuming Clemson and FSU maintain their momentum, it's a long, dark tunnel ahead for the Wuffie conference hopes. This is the only lantern in the coal mine.
So, they put patsies on the schedule, build the win total and get the pups excited about a hopeful future. THEN they crash and burn, recruits turn away and the opportunity to advance is lost.
