Main Engines use about 100 gallons at an oil change , Gen sets are around 20 gals a change . They're old Cat 3508's and they have a lot of hours on them ...so there are a lot of places that weep and some that sling .

Nah man , it goes into slop tanks or the bilge ...and then we go to a facility to have it sucked out and washed down . The old days of "gray water " discharge are long gone , thankfully .

Why of course , all you have to do is meet us at the dock on the bitter end of Court Street in Gowanus Brooklyn in about an hour , but we can only touch and go so if you aren't there on time I don't have any idea when or where your next opportunity will be , lol.

So what's the right term? You don't really drive a tug? Rather You pilot, or navigate, or captain it? Something more maritime, right?

Come from Navy family (Grandfather/Father/Older Bro) and have always loved boating and everything to do with being around the water . Didn't want to join the Navy and around 22 years old decided to try my luck on tugboats when I was living in Memphis , Tn. Been doing it ever since .

"Can any of you DEFECTIVE-types..."
That is what happens when I don't have on my glasses and no coffee yet. ??
I think the guy who posted about it being about a water port job of some type got it. I wouldn't have guessed right though. The gear part threw me off.
