Can Mike Williams get a medical redshirt/waiver

Sep 6, 2015, 9:43 PM

To get this year back? If the injury is that bad, and this would have been yr 3, wouldn't another 2 years of eligibility be a great option to rehab back to NFL caliber?

Yes, don't know if it's needed.

Most thought he would leave after this year anyways and he most likely wouldn't stay passed next if he doesn't play again this year. However, if he doesn't play another down this year,A Medical RS should be applied for. No one,at the time thought Peake would ever be around 5 years.

I doubt it will matter, he is only a junior and he would have been and probably still is NFL bound after this season.

I don't know...Isiah Battle took the leap a year too early imo. Making it as a WR seems very tough at the next level. Every single aspect of his game must be top notch...

He's already NFL material, late 2nd or 3rd rounder imo

I do not know what else he has to prove here, if he had picked up where he left off last year it is a no brainer.

He can, if he plays in 20% of the games or less, which is two games. In this case he played less than a quarter of one, if he doesn't play again this year he can apply for - and get - a medical waiver for this year. When you break your neck after getting chucked into it head-first on live TV, it's a certainty you weren't faking it.

If he doesn't play again this season, he'll still almost certainly have 2 left to play 2...though like many on here, I very much doubt he will. Clemson WR's have done very well in the NFL, people have noticed, and Williams is certainly showing up very well on film.

Stinks for him to potentially lose this year on something so flukey, though we might end up being glad of it next year.

Silver lining, he can leave "early" after next year and still get his degree.
