And lamarcus Joyner, pretty much the entire defense ,and those receivers. Especially Benjamin. The criminoles strength is their defense, jameis winston gets all the credit but their defense is unreal. They have an opportunity to shut out most of the teams they play and that's incredible considering the way college football is these days.

Why would you want that to happen?

(unless if you have reasons to be a Duke fan)
There are only benefits of FSU winning the MNC for Clemson, not negatives. There are negatives of Duke upsetting FSU...no two BCS caliber bowls for the ACC and the continued national embarrassment.

but just having them in Charlotte would be a huge step for Duke and for the ACC. If they make it, you better hope FSU wins if you want Clemson to play in a BCS bowl game.

I never say never about any game

But barring their WB being suspended and the rest of the team having their worst game, I don't see it happening.
And while I'm far from an FSU fan I'm not sure anything good comes from it happening either. It makes Clemson's loss look worse, and it might possibly keep us out of a BCS game.

How would that, in any way, be awesome?

The fact that Duke is even in the conference championship makes the ACC look more bush league than it already does. Can you imagine what the attendance will be if Duke makes it to the game. Lot's of concrete fans.
If Duke were to win the ACC championsip, it would be a catastophy for the conference. I would be willing to bet that neither Clemson nor FSU would end up in a BCS bowl. That would be a major financial loss for the conference and thereby also for Clemson.
Also, like it or not, we are a part of the ACC. How the ACC is viewed has a great deal of weight as to how Clemson is viewed.
Duke winning the conference would not be awesome at all.

Not an FSU fan, but if Duke went to the Orange Bowl as

the ACC champ, then a 12-1 FSU team that spanked us would get the at large bid for the BCS. That would put us in the Peach Bowl.
Oddly the Peach Bowl was better than the Orange last year, but with the Orange Bowl predicted to get at large picks 2 and 3, it's a great opportunity for the Tigers.

Will they? Probably not. Duke is a well coached team that plays hard. They're clearly the third best team in the ACC behind FSU and Clemson. If FSU plays very poorly Duke could hang around. However, the most likely outcome is something like 55-13 FSU.

Can they?
Nov 20, 2013, 1:42 PM

Of course they COULD, it is college football after all and stranger things have happened. If the entire FSU squad came up sick and didn't play well then the Dookies could pull off the upset. WILL they? Not likely.
But I personally want to see FSU in the big game and would rather see them against Baylor if Auburn can upset Alabama and Baylor win out because those two offenses and defenses are something else and I think it would be a very entertaining game.
