Can Clemson land Zion Williamson?

Feb 16, 2017, 9:06 AM

Just watching through some footage....notice our football players showing up for games at the 9:00 mark? Any ideas where he's looking to go?

I sure hope so but I would guess Kansas, Duke, UNC, or Kentucky.

One thing you can be sure of

Feb 16, 2017, 10:13 AM

as much as I hate to say it.....won't be a Tiger. One and done anyways.

Yep if he wants to be a one and done there is no reason for him to come to Clemson. We have not proven to be able to develop players that way. While he probably does not need to develop much Kentucky and Duke roll em out all the time so they know what they are doing.

Same rumor that I heard.

He is a Duke lock.

One of only 2 things that could save Brad's job

Feb 16, 2017, 9:29 AM

Only see 2 ways Brad saves his job:

1. Make the tourney

2. Land Zion

Odds for either aren't looking strong

for one thing, LSU isn't in the ACC

Feb 16, 2017, 11:00 AM

totally different situation.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Actually pretty similar and the conference means little*****

In 2016 Simmons was the #1 NBA pick & LSU did NOT make NCAA***

I agree. Landing him will be good, but slightly..

Feb 16, 2017, 11:28 AM [ in reply to Remember LSUs Ben Simmons -one guy doesn't change everything*** ]

overrated. One and done with our program isn't that big of a deal in the pic. That said, it would still help.

UNC, Duke, or Kentucky. Alot of reports are saying they want him to stay close to home, but I think they realize the return on investment from going to one of those schools

All I know if UNC lands him they'll win the championship next year because they already stole Jalek Felton from gray's academy (cola, sc) so to land both, they'd be unstoppable.

Sad that the best instate talent goes out of state. Now, if we had a bball Dabo, we'd probably have landed both and then we'd be talking bball natty.

the answer is "yes"

Feb 16, 2017, 11:01 AM

all else is people yapping.

You really think he would come to Clemson to play basketball when he could go anywhere in the nation?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: the answer is "yes"

Feb 16, 2017, 11:46 AM

Why not? He's going to the pro's in one year anyway. Team is irrelevant to that. His eye is on the prize, which is the big payday. He might as well spend his one year in college at the place he's most comfortable.

I'm not saying that's Clemson, but I'm thinking he's looking at a bigger picture.

He wants to come but the situation just isn't good for him...Wish him the best of luck!

What's not good about it for him? He would instantly be the best player and wouldn't have grantham or bgame to split time with.

Would love to see him here but he would be crazy to not go to Kentucky. Cal would actually let him play his game. Duke looks like a horrible fit and Roy wouldn't let him play at UNC. #### he can jump.
