Competition wise we will never win

Unless they switch it to percentage of the student body. They have so much more students that it is way easier for them to win every year than us.

Easy fix...they should switch it so that the winner is

whichever school has the least blood remaining in their bodies.

There was a time

When we won the blood bowl quite frequently, more than 50% of the time. I'm not sure why that's changed in recent years. I still haven't figured out if state-wide donations are included in the tallies or not; I know all the red cross banks around SC have some sort of Clemson-SCar rivalry set up, but I suspect it doesn't tie in with the original blood bowl.

They have almost twice as many students as we do.

Nov 14, 2014, 7:55 AM

We used to always win, then UCS started counting attempted donors while Clemson was counting actual donors, so UCS won a few years. When Clemson started counting the same way, we started winning again. But over time, margin of victory diminished as UCS increased their population year after year while Clemson maintained a relatively steady population size. Now that they have twice as many students as us, they win every year. Although margin of victory is only a few hundred for the last few years. If it was made equitable and we adjusted it to percent of enrollment, we would go back to crushing every year.
