Actually I would guess that most people expected him to win

or place. He was one of the big favorites, especially since he got a much better pole position than American Pharaoh. I bet some people lost money on that horse today.

American Pharoah was the favorite to win

with Dortmund second favorite. AP's trainer said that his post position was a good one for him. Third is good in the Kentucky Derby.
