Will Rose Bowl winner get less preparation time?

Since the Rose Bowl will end around 8:15 EST and the Sugar Bowl will not start until 8:45 EST, isn't it possible for the Rose winner to fly back and be home before the Sugar Bowl ends? This could be especially true for Oklahoma. The number of days between the semifinals and the championship game are fewer than last year so the teams will probably return to campus immediately after the semifinals. I don't see a big difference in the total preparation time, maybe a little more time in the air.

That’s not really how it works man. GA’s have been watching film & working on game plans for every team in the playoffs for a week now. It’s all routine for the players during the week of game prep

They will have been west coast for probably a week. Then flying east. It impacts performance on pro teams all the time. It won't impact everyone the same but as someone who traveled east-west frequently for work and back home....it messes with you. Glad we are in the Sugar this year with the one less day.
