good. Starting pitching sucks. Defense sucks, at EVERY position but CF. We hit, but don't always score runs. We take pitches right down the middle then swing at a ball. Don't move runners up. Strike out or pop up with runners in scoring position and less than 2 outs. Oh and our baserunning is god awful!!!. This team is not good

I may be wrong, but I seem to remember his teams all being really good offensively and not as great defensively. Sort of the opposite of our old philosophy under Leggett.

You are wrong. The year Lee lost to Texas Tech in the Supers his team was one of the top ranked Defensive teams as well as a top 5 pitching team in the country. He lost 1-0 and 1-0 in the Supers. He started developing his hitters and changing his coaching style (something Leggett absolutely refused to do) and the very next year he had one of the best offensive teams in the country as well as a pretty stout defense and pitching staff. That was after losing his top two starting pitchers for the season before it began. He left CofC in very good shape and capable hands in, Coach Heath. Coach Lee will win big here at Clemson, sooner rather than later. As a die hard Clemson fan and an avid baseball fan I have never been more excited about a hire.

I think we've just been spoiled by having pretty elite starting pitching for most of the program's history, and right now we don't really have any elite starters. Our defense also seems worse than normal.
On the other hand, we hit better than we have for the last 3-4 years, and that's why we've already won so many games.
We also have 5 really good hitters in Pinder, Okey, Beer, Wilson, and Rohlman (although Rohlman hasn't gotten it going yet).

Our pitching is starting to be what most of us expected pre-season, as we lost some really good pitchers. I've been surprised that we've done so well, and lots of it was due to good pitching. I'm not sure what's happening recently, but our train has run off the track. Maybe Lee will make some adjustments, and the ship will right itself.

three game series?????? Not hardly......2-1 vs Wake Forest....3-0 vs Boston College.....0-3 vs Miami....2-1 vs Pitt. That adds up to 8-5 in three games series. I Really like this team, but they have kind of hit a wall with their pitching and defense. The pitching seems about like I would have expected before the season (when our pitching exceeded my expectations). Hopefully defense will start to improve. I don't know about pitching, but hope it will get better. After today, I wondered if Krall shouldn't be moved to a starting role, since he is pitching a lot of innings anyway.

We have won 5 out of 6 of our three game series. 5-1 in three games series. Sorry for the confuuuzions. I included our wins against Maine and SCAR too. I've been following hardcore. I agree about the defense. Hopefully our coaches will be emphasizing that in practice. Greene is doing well on third, which has been nice.

For us being so bad, not sure how we (Clemson) have won 21 games.
Not sure what team you are watching, but we have many good D players......rohlman, beer, wilson, pinder. Williams is doing his job on D as is greene. Bryant just had a bad day today.
We have 5 batters hitting .300 or better with one hitting .422. Our fielding % is .961.
I can agree with too many LOB is scoring position. But other than that, you are just wrong

energy and excitement. I think we are getting all we could ask for by winning home series, being nationally ranked, and having the most dynamic player in college baseball right now in Beer. The final Leggett years we were flat, emotionless, and destined to be mediocre.

Lost to a top 5 team on walk offs 2 games in a row on the road. I believe we are at worst a top 10 team in the nation. I guess that still isn't good enough. You want to be the best best is standard.

You aren't wrong. But this team isn't bad. We have made the most of some opportunities and have been a little lucky thus far... and sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. I still expect to surpass last season's win total and make the tournament, but my expectations aren't super high because of the things you just said.
