Brooklyn Coot Hallucination

May 26, 2015, 1:40 AM

The Time: Last Sunday, 2pm
The Scene: The Williamsburg/Greenpoint area of Brooklyn, NY
The Characters:
Me & Mack, an 11 year old boy who is like a son to me and a Clemson Tiger because I know how to educate an intelligent young man
The Specifics:
In this particular area of W'burg/GP, the streets are usually empty. It's mostly small factories and a few buildings and homes where more often than not Polish families live. Little traffic, if any at all.
Mack and I are headed to a nearby doughnut shop and generally enjoying the day.
Off in the distance, we notice a couple walking toward us.
As we get a little closer, Mack says - Hey! What are those guys wearing!
When I take a close look, I see a guy wearing a black fleece (yes a fleece) w/ a Gamecock logo on the chest w/ 'Gamecocks' stitched above it. The girl (perhaps in drag, who can say) is wearing a garnet Tshirt with 'Gamecocks' printed in white block letters across the front.
OK. Listen. I have lived in W'burg for 20 years more or less. In NYC, I have never, even at the height of college football season, come across a man (maybe he's the one in drag?) and a woman (?) in His and Hers matching Gamecock regalia. In fact, God as my witness, I have never seen anyone wearing any sort of Gamecock apparel at all...perhaps lucky? OK. Fine.
Regardless, it's the middle of May in Gotham and these nitwits are dressed like they are headed to a 4th quarter beat-down at the Roach!
Even by NY standards, this is bizarre.
After they passed by, Mack said he felt sorry for them...which is very kind of him. He's a good boy.
We had our doughnuts.
This is my only question:
1. Does anyone have any idea at all WHY in the middle of May 2015 in NYC on an empty side-street of Brooklyn, a couple would be ambling about is matching Gamecock clothing?
Perhaps I am missing something here.

Pity them.

It's a joke in the north for some.... Here's why..

May 26, 2015, 7:04 AM

I stopped a couple of people in philly once wearing gamecocks gear and asked if they were fans and from the state like I am. They laughed and asked why I couldn't get it... Game "#####!!l" It was an obscene joke thing for them.

they were homeless vagrants and got the Capon gear from Goodwill or the Salvation Army. Ironically, the same thing can be said of the majority of folks wearing that **** around here too.

There was/is a homeless guy near my apartment in New Bedford, MA when I lived there a few years ago. He had a gamecocks sweatshirt that he wore every day. On a trip to Clemson, I picked him up a new sweatshirt and gave it to him when I got back.
